Scientific career

Max Hoppe was born in Solingen in 1992. After graduating from highschool, he studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wuppertal and graduated in 2019 as M. Sc. During his studies, he worked already as a graduate assistant at the Chair of Control and Feedback Control systems from 2016 until 2019. He graduated with a master‘s thesis entitled „Controlling an Inverse Pendulum“.
After graduation, Max Hoppe started working as a research associate in August 2019 at the Institute for Security Systems. He is now involved in supporting courses and seminars for Bachelor and Master students and doing basic scientific research in the field of control engineering.


Main fields of research / working focus


Max Hoppe works as a research associate at the Institute for Security Systems in the field of control and feedback control systems as well as mechatronics.

  • Supervision of students’ works (Bachelor and Master)
  • Basic scientific research in the field of control engineering
