Working priorities


As a laboratory engineer, Christian Marré’s work focuses mainly on maintenance and repair of the institute’s laboratories and its equipment. Besides the procurement of all measuring instruments, tools, machines and other laboratory equipment, the design and implementation of electronic circuits, construction and manufacturing of test setups as well as participating in application-oriented and basic research projects in the field of mechatronics belong to Christian Marré’s tasks.


Scientific career


Christian Marré was born in Essen in 1977. After graduating from highschool and having finished his community service, he studied electrical engineering with special emphasis on information technology and microelectronics at Essen University. Parallel to his studies, Christian Marré worked as a student assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems (IMS) in the field of electronic components and circuits, where he also wrote his diploma thesis on “Development of a temperature shock test system (temperature range: from RT to 300°C).

From 2007 until 2009, Christian Marré worked as development engineer for measuring and test devices in a medium-sized company in Essen. Since 2010, he has been working as laboratory engineer at the Institute for Security Systems as part of Wuppertal University.


Assistance in teaching


Christian Marré is responsible for planning, construction and set-up of test benches and prototypes as far as scientific works, teaching and research projects are concerned.
